Astro, Amazon’s first consumer home robot, launched in September of 2021.

Keep home closer with Astro, the household robot for home monitoring, with Alexa. When you're away, use the Astro app to see a live view of your home, check in on specific rooms and viewpoints, and get activity alerts. When you're home, Astro can follow you from room to room playing your favorite music, podcasts or shows, and find you to deliver calls, reminders, alarms, and timers set with Alexa.

Greg played an integral role in the industrial design of Astro. He worked on the project from foundational stages through full design-for-manufacturing. He joined the team as one of its original core members and was its first IC industrial designer. Greg’s biggest contributions were in the sensing space, where he worked diligently across HW/SW functions to digest complex requirements and drive a functional ID solution. Among other key aspects of the device, Greg worked on:

Power cable ID
Navigation, HRI, and safety sensor architecture definition and integration
CMF strategy and integration
DFM
